ZTR Racing Products Spring Compressor The figure above shows the variator tool with a variator installed. The variator is compressed between a bottom plate and the plunger (white) shown. Once the variator is fully compressed, the nut is removed. The variator can then be uncompressed by turning the bolt to raise the plunger. The uncompressed variator can be removed and maintenance performed. The variator assembly/disassembly tool will allow one person to easily assemble/disassemble a variator in just a few minutes! If you have to work on a variator then you need one of these tools.
