Racing National Pro-Peg Nerf Bar Installation Instructions
HAVE A
PROFESSIONAL WELDER INSTALL FRONT AND REAR NERF BAR MOUNTING TUBES
·
Remove stock
floor boards or foot pegs from machine. Mark above on the chassis or
plastic side cover using masking tape of the central point of the stock
foot peg, specifically for a comparison.
·
At this
point ask your rider to sit on the machine. Have the rider hold their
feet where they would prefer the new foot peg to be. Most riders should
feel comfortable at or slightly behind the stock foot peg location.
Mark above on the chassis or plastic side cover using masking tape of
the central point the riders preferred position. This mark is
approximately perpendicular to where the rear tube will be mounted.
·
Install heel
guards onto the rear of the Nerfbars using supplied hardware, after
installation is complete check for clearance of the rear tires. Make
sure you are not mounting to far forward to prevent rubbing on the front
tires and/or causing the machines center of gravity to be too far
forward.
·
To save
electrical problems completely unplug your CDI unit.
·
Once you are
satisfied with the location of your foot peg, and this area has been
marked on both sides, start with the steel rear mounting tubes. Remove
all paint from the mounting point, as well as at least a ˝” around this
point. Measure 9 ˝” forward on the frame from the center of your rear
tube to find the center point of the front mount location.
·
When welding
remember to weld completely around tube. Tubes should remain level with
chassis.
·
To adjust
stance width, cut aluminum tubes to desired length. Slide the Nerfbars
onto the steel pegs as far as possible. Drill a hole completely through
the mounted Nerfbars, through the mounting tube and out bottom, using a
1/4” drill bit. Pass the supplied bolts through the hole and “lock-tite”
the nut on. Drill all 4 tubes. Drilling may be easier from underneath,
stand the machine on the rear grab bar to easily access the bars from
underneath.
·
Net
Installation – Run the net down through the top, out the bottom; back up
through the middle and out the top, underneath other strap. Leave
minimal slack.
